Titania of Cowes is stripped to racing mode and primed for the start of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. With a top crew including three Hewsons, a new quiver of sails Titania of Cowes shows fantastic potential to win her class and possibly the great race on handicap victory.
Titania is a Swan 68 is owned and skippered by Richard Dobbs and almost all of Titania’s crew have raced the boat in the past. Our crew consists of Olympic, Volvo, Mini Transat and whitbread sailors from around the world who can sail her to her optimum potential.
Richard Hewson will be navigating the yacht to Hobart, playing in his home ground for the first time in since the 2010 Sydney to Hobart Yacht race. The weather has been very interesting to watch over the past few weeks, and even with only one day to go none of the weather models agree so it will be a combination of tactics and precise navigation that will win this race.
“I am very excited about this race, local knowledge means everything in this race, and with the crew onboard we defiantly have the brains onboard to make the right decisions to win the race”.
