Traveling through any of the States or Territories of Australia you will find desert, rainforest, mountain ranges, and the most beautiful beaches on earth! Australia is not only a fantastic sailing destination, there is more than you can imagine in its heart.
I love to show off about Australia, and think that more tourists should come over and enjoy the beauty and excitement that every city and country town has to offer. So, to kill two birds with one stone, I am using my 2015 Mini Transat campaign to promote Australia, its industry, hospitality and services. As the only Australian entry currently qualified for the 2015 Mini Transat I am focusing on building a completely Australian sponsorship base. 2015 Mini Transat Race will be one of the most exciting and extreme ocean races in the world. The race is a solo race 4000nm across the Atlantic against the worlds best sailors in a fleet of 80 high performance 6.5m yachts.

Sponsorship is a key factor in every Mini Transat Campaign. Without the required sponsorship I will not be able to race in the 2015 event, and even with fifteen months to go before the start the clock is ticking. It is vital for me to find 40,000 Euro before May 2014 or Aus 816 will have to be sold and I will not have a boat to race in the 2015 event. Why 816 and not another mini? The reason is that the RG650 is the fastest series boat on the water and I have already qualified in No 816. This means that I can concentrate more on the boat including two boat tuning with other RG650’s, as well as more sail testing. I also have more time to do the races that I want to do, and can focus on the tactics in the race a lot more than last year. AUS 816 is qualified and ready to go, all I need is the funds to purchase the boat from my previous sponsors at RG and we are ready to RACE!
